Earlier today on Twitter, Bungie revealed that they would be giving out more bans to console players on Destiny. In addition to this, in Destiny’s weekly update blog, the developer teased that they would be revealing some interesting information next month.
Cozmo, a bungie community manager for Bungie, wrote on twitter that the company would be handing out some more bans to players that have a “history of banned or restricted accounts”.
Some of the potential banning guidelines are promoted on Destiny’s website. The following are ways in which to get banned from Destiny as per their rules:
- Connecting to the Destiny game service with any of the following:
- Modified game software
- Modified game assets
- Modified console hardware
- Modified console firmware
- Using an external program to modify the operation of the Destiny game software (trainer or mod).
- Using an external program or device to automate gameplay or circumvent idle detection.
- Modification or interruption of Destiny network traffic with intent to disrupt other players’ experiences, or to gain an advantage in the game.
- Intentionally deriving gameplay benefit from another user’s behavior in the above categories.
- Unauthorized access to Destiny software or downloadable content (game piracy).
- Impersonating a Bungie, Microsoft, Sony, or Activision employee.
As for the announcement on their weekly update, Bungie mentioned that in two weeks they would be in Anaheim California, the same time and location as the Sony Playstation Experience Event. In the post they said that, “The week after, we’ll be packing our bags for Anaheim, CA. The particulars of our mission are still a mystery. We’ll cross that finish line soon”. While not coming out and saying that they would be at the event, the timing seems to be on point with the event as well as saying that they have a “mission” thats a mystery.
It would seem as though only time will tell what the secret is. Destiny 2 has not made an official debut yet. Perhaps they could be planning on reveal? The Playstation Event will be from December 3 through the fourth. For more information about the Playstation Experience Event you can click here.
