Bungie recently announced that the upcoming Destiny 2 Shadowkeep and New Light will be experiencing a slight delay in launch. The news was shared via the Destiny 2 official Twitter page. Both were previously scheduled for September 17th, but are now being pushed back a month. The team at Bungie states that the delay was not an easy decision.

The post on the official website shared a couple of other “date housecleanings” for this fall season.
- The World First for the new Raid Garden of Salvation will begin on October 5th.
- Moments of Triumph will be extended through September 17th.
- There will be an additional Iron Banner during the week of September 17th.
- And finally, Cross Save will be coming online later this summer, “so you’ll have time to sort out your Friends List well ahead of Shadowkeep.”
This Fall is the first step on a journey for what our team wants Destiny 2 to become – a place for you and your friends to play anytime, anywhere; owning the action MMO and RPG elements that we love about the game; and crushing barrier to entry for friends. We just need a bit of extra time to take the first step.
Both Shadowkeep and New Light will now be releasing a bit later this fall season, now expected for October 1st, 2019. The Shadowkeep DLC, both the standard and digital deluxe editions, are available for pre-order through the Bungie website. The Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Collector’s Edition for the game is currently unavailable, but players are welcomed to sign up for email notifications if/when the package becomes open once more. The expansion will be playable for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (Steam). New Light is free-to-play and will be available for download to every supported platform. You can sign up here for email notifications when it becomes available.
