Bugbear Announced Derby Racing Game Wreckfest Is Headed to Xbox One and PS4

Earlier this morning Bugbear announced that they would be adding Wreckfest to Xbox One and Playstation 4 while also announcing a new physics based game Stuntfest. Wreckfest began on the PC as a demolition derby/ racing game that pits players against each other online.

In a statement given by Team Bugbear they state that,

Since the Early Access launch of Wreckfest we have been asked whether Wreckfest will be ever released on consoles, and we’re now thrilled to announce that Wreckfest is officially coming to Xbox One™ and PlayStation 4! Quoting our Studio Director, Janne Alanenpää: ‘Thanks to the raw power of both Xbox One™ and PlayStation 4 we will be able to unleash our undistilled vision of a next-generation demolition racing game on consoles as well and expand our audience considerably.’

In their announcement Bugbear also mentioned that by pre-ordering the game you will be among the first to play in what they refer to as “Early Access” when they create the first playable console version. There are three different versions of the game each with their own respectable prices for increased content.

The “Weekend Smasher” price for the game on Playstation 4 and Xbox One is $39.99 and comes with the digital copy of the game, beta access, PC version of Playable Technology Sneak Peek 2.0, and exclusive pre order wallpaper. For “Full Time Wrecker” players will receive all items in the “Weekend Smasher” as well as an exclusive car, digital soundtrack, and Special Full-Time Wrecker Badge for the Bugbear Forums at a price of $49.99. Finally players can opt to pay $99.99 for the “Team Bugbear Member” which grants everything from the previous levels while adding your name in the credits and a copy of Stuntfest on the PC. Currently there is discount on all three packages making the prices $19.99, $24.99, and $69.99.

The game is currently set to be released in Spring of 2017.

Stuntfest on the other hand lets players on PC create their own stunts for cars, mobility scooters, and shopping carts. Bugbear describes the game as a, “wacky vehicle-based physics playground”. The development team has teamed up with an unnamed partner for the game. Stuntfest is currently set to be released for early access on Steam in October of this year; the full game is expected to release in 2017. As of right now they have a limited time pre-order price of $14.99.
