Of all the different kinds of games, those focused on building and customization have often been the most relaxing. While not necessary, this calm atmosphere and gameplay loop can lend itself to the game having a narrative focus, sometimes compounding the tranquil gameplay with a cozy story. This seems to be the line of thought for Bubblegum Galaxy, a new tile builder developed by Smarto Club, creators of Teacup, and published by Astrolabe Games.
The team recently released a trailer announcing the release date of their new game and showing off some of what it has to offer. From the start, players are encouraged to work to become successful interns. In order to accomplish that, they will need to start placing tiles. The tiles have different functions and can create various buildings, each of which can gain effects based on other tiles around them such as watering plants or gathering points from nearby sunflowers. While working with the tiles, players will also be able to complete small missions to keep them focused. More details on the gameplay can be found on the Steam store page, such as changes that come with each unique planet.
In addition to main tile building aspect of the game, players will also be able to walk around and customize their office space. The office space will come with coworkers that players will have the chance to get to know in between working on their galaxies. These can lead to hundreds of story events building up to the main reveal of who deleted the first galaxy and why. Of course, players will also need to be careful not to delete their own galaxy.
Since its announcement, many players have pointed out cute aesthetic and potential Bubblegum Galaxy has. Gamers will have a chance to see that potential firsthand when the game releases on March 12th for PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and PC.
