Today, PlayStation gave fans another look at Ghost of Yotei in the form of a wordless trailer. The highly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima developed by Sucker Punch Studios is set to arrive on October 2nd, less than a month away. Players of the original game have been eager to get any additional glances they can at the game and have received story and gameplay trailers over the past few months. Today, however, PlayStation put out a unique trailer, Journey Through the Edge of Japan, which covered another spectacular aspect of the game, the environments.

One of the most praised aspects of Ghost of Tsushima were the ways that the advanced graphics were used to capture the sensation of various locations throughout Japan in 1274. Its sequel will seemingly expand on this quality to even greater effect. Developed for a more powerful console and with greater experience, the game already boasts more advanced technical capabilities. The new trailer gives fans a chance to see the impact that this will have practically in game.

The trailer, set to “The North” by Toma Otowa, begins by showing a golden field swaying in the breeze. There are no words to accompany the sight, nor any additional information distributed. As the camera fades to show a pristine waterfall, it becomes clear that this preview sets out to do exactly what it claims, offer a glimpse of a journey through Japan. The settings revealed generally grow darker as the video progresses, going from forests and fields to snow-covered plains and dark caverns. As soon as the pink petals come onto the screen, however, the video takes another turn, leaving the audience with more natural and calming scenery to contemplate.

The new trailer does not reveal much about the game that those anticipating Ghost of Yotei did not already know. It did, however, capture some of the spirit of the upcoming game, not to mention flex the game’s impressive graphics. The trailer may even offer an incentive to some players to stop every now and then to take a look around.
