Today, 2K Games announced that Borderlands 3 is the fastest-selling game in the history of the company. Borderlands 3‘s record sales also come after the backlash that was received due to the game’s PC launch on the Epic Games Store. In addition to this announcement, more details have been provided for the game’s first event Bloody Harvest.
2k Games said that Borderlands 3 sold 50% more than Borderlands 2 during the game’s first five days which is why it is the fastest-selling 2K game. It’s also the fastest-selling 2k game on PC despite the exclusivity to the Epic Games Store. Borderlands 3 is also the highest percentage of digital sales at 70% of any 2K game and had the highest pre-order sales for any 2k game and the game broke pre-order records for the Epic Games Store. Borderlands 3 is also the most-watched game on launch day on Twitch and has maintained the position as a top-five most-watched game since launch. Borderlands 3 has also eclipsed its predecessor as it has generated more than 14 million hours of content viewed on Twitch which is more than half of the viewership that Borderlands 2 generated in its lifetime.

The Bloody Harvest will come to Borderlands 3 sometime in October. It will introduce a new location where new Haunted enemies will be introduced. They will cause a terror de-buff that reduces field of vision and will making aiming more difficult. Players will also have to contend with Rakk-O’-Lanterns and have to take on Captain Haunt. Two new weapons, a new ECHO Device skin, a global weapon skin, a new shield, a new grenade mod, and new cosmetics will be available as rewards during the event.
