It’s been a while since we last heard anything in regard to Team Reptile’s Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. The title, which itself is an homage to Jet Set Radio, is set to launch on August 18 for the Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam. Well, now it had an additional release date. In addition to the August 18 date, the game will also launch on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/Series S on September 1, which is a two-week difference from the first date. The title will cost $39.99 across all platforms.

Team Reptile also released a brief gameplay trailer, which according to the studio was captured on the Nintendo Switch. No specific reason was given as to why the title the PlayStation and Xbox versions were delayed by two weeks, but it’s more than likely due to both systems being a late addition to the title’s console library. Prior to this announcement, the game was revealed as, at the time, a PC title only. The Nintendo Switch hardware was added earlier this year, and there had been little to no mention of any other console getting the game at the time.
As we mentioned earlier, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a spiritual successor to the very much beloved Jet Set Radio, which was also one of the most popular titles on the Sega Dreamcast. However, what also makes this title even more anticipated is that Hideki Naganuma, the composer for Jet Set Radio and its sequel Jet Set Radio Future, will be the main composer for this one as well. Combined with Naganuma’s sick beats, as well as the almost exact same playstyle of the Jet Set Radio series, this is definitely one of the more anticipated indie titles of 2023, and we can’t wait to get out hands on it.
