It’s that time again! We’re getting a good amount of fighting game news and one of the biggest reveals is the gameplay trailer for Blue Mary! Taking a break from her cameo in Street Figher 6, Mary is the latest DLC character for SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Blue Mary has since added a bomber jacket to her ensemble (whether or not that’s a good thing is entirely dependent on who you are), but as for her arsenal it’s remained faithful to her prior appearances in the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games.
Right away the game brags about Mary’s sambo style grappler playstyle, and indeed we see the return of her Dynamite Swing, a fan favorite move. Also returning are Mary’s Vertical Arrow and M. Spider armbar specials. On top of that, popular fighting game combo enthusiast Desk was given early access to Blue Mary and we can see some of the things she can do outside of just trailer footage.
Desk combos aren’t always the most practical thing to try and emulate in a competitive setting, but these preview videos are an exception, and everything here is very grounded and will see use: Mary’s overhead links into a crouching jab then Vertical Arrow, a simple yet very practical combo. On top of that she’s got good oki on her German suplex command grab and has several great follow-ups to her specials that lead into Spider grabs. Blue Mary is releasing for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on March 26th, 2026. She will be the third character in the game’s second season of DLC, with the highly anticipated return of Fatal Fury villain Wolfgang Krauser to come after her.
