Blizzard released Diablo Immortal on June 2 and was hoping that the game would be a hit among fans. Despite the optimism from Blizzard, many fans have taken issue with the pay-to-win setup and importance of microtransactions in the game. Additionally, many fans are already hoping for new content to be added to the game in the near future.
In a Reddit post, Diablo community lead Adam Fletcher discussed potential changes and updates coming to the game.
Fletcher joined the game’s subreddit and said “We will have our first update here in the next few weeks as we get to the tail end of the current Battle Pass. We will detail out some of our content cadence in the post. Expectations for the next update will focus in on the BP as well as some features, fixes and etc.” Fletcher continued the post and said “As we’ve noted in the past, bigger gameplay content features will be free for users so expect more to the story and so forth in the future for everyone to experience”
Many of the potential changes to the game will likely be welcomed by the community as they look for ways to improve gameplay and other aspects. Many of the features will likely be new additions that are coming with the battle pass, as well as fixes to current bugs and other parts of the game that are affecting players.
Although many fans are looking forward to the coming updates to Diablo Immortal, the game has still been a success financially. Since the release, Diablo Immortal has already made $24 million and should see continued growth in the coming weeks. This success also comes without the game being released in countries such as Belgium or the Netherlands due to the resemblance of gambling in the loot boxes.
While Blizzard continues working to make Diablo Immortal a success, fans should look forward to the potential for big changes to be made within the game.
