

On March 31st, 2026, Blaze Entertainment announces its newest handheld, the Evercade Nexus, the latest in the Evercade retro devices. The release of the new handheld is set for October 2026, with pre-orders starting on April 1st. The Evercade Nexus is the successor to the Evercade EXP-R handheld. The Nexus has a 5.81″ IPS display, an upgrade from the EXP-R’s 4.3″ IPS display. Also, for the first time on Evercade handhelds, the Nexus has twin analog sticks, supports wireless headphones, and has a new local multiplayer feature called EverSync. This feature allows users to share their games wirelessly with other Evercade Nexus devices, which means only one game cartridge is needed to play.
With the release of the Evercade Nexus, a new cartridge will be released alongside it, featuring enhanced versions of both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. The Nexus will also be compatible with over 80 Evercade cartridges, all spanning back to 2020 releases. Both games have been enhanced and customized specifically for the console, offering both graphical and performance improvements. It also includes D-Pad control, widescreen, and twin-stick support. And an overhauled camera, unlockable content, and more.
The Evercade Nexus will also include features from previous Evercade devices, such as the TATE mode, which allows the screen to rotate 90 degrees for vertically oriented arcade games. It will also include bonus features like a downloadable Indie Heroes Game of the Month. The Evercade Nexus will cost $199.99, and with it, you will get the console, the Banjo-Kazooie double pack cartridge, a charging cable that is USB-C to USB-A, and a quick start guide.
Retailer Funstock will be selling a limited-edition Nexus stylized and inspired by the Nintendo 64. There will be a limited number of 2,000 units for the console, and with it, you get everything from the standard version. an exclusive Hardshell EVA case, screen protector, and a collectible box that includes a numbered certificate of authenticity.
