The Call of Duty franchise is making history with Blacks Ops Cold War Zombies Free Access Week. The latest installment of the COD series, Black Ops Cold War, was released in November 2020 and received an 8/10 review from our team. Available to all players on their respective platforms, developer Treyarch wanted to release the Zombies mode for free during this week. Cold War’s zombie mode follows the Dark Aether story-line that was included in Black Ops 4. This week starts on January 14 and ends on January 21.

Three big game modes are included in this free access: Die Maschine, Cranked, and Onslaught which is a PlayStation Exclusive. Die Maschine will allow players to explore a laboratory in Poland to try and uncover the secrets in the abandoned laboratory. The starting area to this mode is a callback to an original World at War Zombies map for the diehard fans to enjoy. Players will be able to upgrade any weapons obtained through the Battle Pass system in this area. The Cranked mode will put a timer on the players to increase the intensity of the run and they will explode if they don’t kill a zombie before the timer runs out! Lastly, the PlayStation Exclusive, Onslaught, is a new two-player Zombies mode on the multiplayer maps. This mode will confide the two players in a certain area of the map until a Dark Aether Orb is charged by the souls of the undead. Players can earn special rankings and exclusive Weapon Blueprints in this mode.
If players decide to buy the game after free access, all their progress will be transferred over after purchase. Free access begins January 14 through January 21 and is available on all major platforms (last-gen and the new consoles).
