Treyarch has released the newest update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Operation Grand Heist kicks off the newest season of the game and its content will span all three modes of Black Ops 4. There will be something new each day of the launch week. Much more will be coming in the following weeks including new game modes, featured playlists, new weapons to Blackout, and more.
Available today in multiplayer is a new specialist, a new game mode, weapons and gameplay tuning updates, 2 new maps for Black Ops pass holders, and more. A new destination, “Ghost Town”, is available in Blackout. The new destination has two big locations associated with it. There are new playable structures throughout the map, gameplay, and armor tuning updates, an all-new prestige system, the cosmic silverback character for Black Ops pass holders and more.
For zombies mode, new additions include a new Gauntlet called “Death-Con Five”, a new perk called Ethereal Razor, additional tier skip for completing Daily Callings, support for signature weapons, and more.
The Black Market sees an all-new 100 tier contraband stream including 3 new earnable weapons, a new Blackout character, a new Mastercraft weapon, new reactive camos, new cosmetic jump pack item for more Blackout customization, a newly-revamped Black Market that features the return of Blackjack, and more. Additional events will be happening throughout the launch week which ends with a new game mode.
In multiplayer, the new specialist returning is actually from the last game. Outrider returns to Black Ops; she features new and improved weaponry such as the “Hawk”, which is a pilotable drone that can tag enemies automatically and her “Sparrow” weapon, which has a boost to its precision and power with accurate, explosive-tipped arrows that detonate on impact. She is instantly unlocked in both Multiplayer and Blackout when players complete Tier 1 of the new operation in the Black Market.
One new aspect of multiplayer is the addition of Party Games. One of these games is One in the Chamber. In this mode, players are given three lives and a pistol with one bullet. You gain points if you land the perfect shot, and you can get another bullet by meleeing an opponent. This is just the first of several multiplayer modes that will make their debut this season.
New weapons are coming to multiplayer as well. These include the Switchblade X9, “a new folding SMG with fast reload and ADS times”, the full-auto Rampage shotgun, which provides “devastating impact at close range”, and the Cha-ching money bag melee weapon, “perfect for tight situations during a quick getaway.” Additional weaponry will also come later this season.
Ghost Town is the newest destination in Blackout. It features two locations that were inspired by fan-favorite maps. “Outlaw” is a Western-themed reimagining of “Standoff” and “Buried” is an underground Zombies-inspired location. New game modes are coming to Blackout, such as Hardcore mode and Hot Pursuit. Hot Pursuit comes this Friday, February 22. This mode has squads racing to supply drops as they try to eliminate one another. New vehicles and weapons will be launching on Blackout later on as well.
