BioWare Teases Upcoming Mass Effect With a Cryptic Clip on N7 Day

N7 Day is finally here, and with that comes another teaser from BioWare for their upcoming new Mass Effect entry. The studio put out a very short video on Twitter which shows a station floating in orbit above an unidentified planet. BioWare then asks its fans to try and decipher the hidden message that is played in the background of the clip. Thankfully, the Mass Effect fanbase is one of the most diehard in the video game community and were able to decode the message, which BioWare later played for everyone to hear.

As you can hear in the tweet above, the message is from famous Mass Effect character Liara T’soni, who is heard saying “The Council will be furious! Although, they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance!” This message could mean anything as no actual context of the story has been given out by anyone at BioWare since the last N7 Day in 2021 which they showed top down shot of a ship landed and a crew walking towards a crater with a body laying out in front of it. In a blog post, Project Director Mike Gamble shared that the production of the title was going very well and that he is looking forward to sharing more in the future. “One day, when we’re ready, we’ll have more to share on the next Mass Effect, so thank you for being a part of this journey with us.”

The annual N7 Day is the celebration of the Mass Effect franchise where players share their favorite memory of the series with posts that are encouraged by the studio. For those who don’t know, the term N7 comes from the series highest rank in the Systems Alliance Navy, in which Commander Shepard is a member of. BioWare designates November 7 as the official day due to the letter and the number association. It’s also always a couple of weeks apart from November 20, which is the anniversary of the very first Mass Effect being released. Just like last year, there’s plenty of opportunity for BioWare to reveal some more concrete information before the year ends. The Game Awards 2022 is just around the corner, and once again, is the perfect time to share some details with the fans.
