Video Game corporation Embracer Group, formerly known as THQ Nordic, has revealed their Q1 Financial Report. The report states that the company enjoyed some serious growth, mostly attributed to the insane amount of video game studios that they have under their umbrella. One IP particular exceeded expectations and performed very well, Biomutant. Experiment 101’s title was apparently a major driving force for the overall sales revenue as the game has now sold more than 1 million copies. In addition, Embracer also reports that the studio was able to recoup the costs of the development in just one week after the game launched.

Embracer Group confirms this by stating “The game has sold more than one million copies. The full investment into development and marketing as well as the acquisition cost for Experiment 101 and the IP, was recouped within a week after launch.” Embracer also mentions that the acquisition of Aspyr Media, Easybrain, & Gearbox Entertainment has also helped this effort. As we already mentioned, these new studios and all of their IP’s now operate under the Embracer Group umbrella, which means any and all numbers and statistics impact their parent company as a result. Therefore, it’s not all that surprising to see their Q1 Financial Report bring in such a huge growth.
As for Biomutant, it went through quite a process before finally launching in May 2021. The game was originally revealed back in 2017, and before Experiment 101 became part of Embracer Group. Unfortunately, then Biomutant did release it was met with some technical issues and received a mixed reception as a result. Despite this, the studio continued to work on it post launch and fixed several of the bugs and glitches while also retooling the game mechanics. This apparently had some degree of success as the game has now reached the aforementioned sales threshold.
