Is Bethesda announcing a brand new game in 2017? That’s what we’ve been wondering ever since last Wednesday.
Rumors first broke of a new possible Bethesda game at PAX West, when Peter Hines, VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, mentioned in an interview with Tek Syndicate that Bethesda was working on an unannounced title, “…We even have a game coming out this year that we haven’t even told anyone about yet.” But that comment didn’t last for long, as Peter rescinded that statement on his personal Twitter account after the interview, “I probably just had a concussion from the beating I took online and was rambling. Ignore.”
No matter how bad of an online beating he may have received, it still seems unlikely that the VP of Marketing would make up something about a new game being in development. It’s more likely that Peter was told to take back his statements. But fortunately this past weekend, Peter cleared up matters on his Twitter:
I'm positive I knew what I was saying in the interview. The tweet was a joke I was making to MrMatty

So now it really does look as if the publishers of Skyrim, Fallout and Doom have something up their sleeve. When they’ll announce more details, like title, gameplay and release date, is still completely unknown.
