The major electronics retailer Best Buy may have accidentally leaked the news of a trio of titles that are coming to the Nintendo Switch. According to multiple posts on Twitter from the users Mystic and Wario64 and an Imgur post from the user Groo0731, Best Buy has listed Persona 5, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in their internal employee system.
However, since these titles were first discovered, Best Buy has removed them from their system. According to another tweet from Wario64, “the Switch listings are still there in its RSS,” so these games are still buried in Best BUy’s system, and the leaks could very well hold weight. These would all be major titles heading to Nintendo’s hybrid console if these leaks are true.
Persona fans have been clamoring for Persona 5 to come to the Switch for a while now. Yesterday, Atlus launched a website for new project related to the game called P5S, and teased more information to come on April 25. P5S could easily mean Persona 5 Switch. This is also the second Persona 5 related project Atlus has announced recently as they announced Persona 5: The Royal for PlayStation 4 last week.
The Metroid Prime Trilogy is a collection many have speculated would come to Nintendo Switch at some point. It would make sense to have the original trilogy on the console for players to experience before the release of Metroid Prime 4. A release of the trilogy could also be seen as a “make good” to fans as, earlier this year, Nintendo announced development on Metroid Prime 4 had been restarted as original developers Retro Studios took over the project.
Of these three leaked titles, the most shocking would be The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past being listed. The listing is apparently not a mistaken entry for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening that is set to release later this year. The listing also doesn’t indicate if this would be straight port of the 1992 Super Nintendo classic or a full on remake of it. If it is a remake, this could be the project Nintendo and Monolith Soft have been recruiting for.
