Skelly Selest is a score-attack slash, dash, run ‘n’ gun-athon that released on Steam today. This light-hearted rogue-lite has you venturing into the decrepit procedurally generated depths of Hell in an effort to eliminate the evil taint of Deamonica Netherlords as a whole.
Developed by Caiysware, this indie tells of a world drenched with ancient prophecies. Once Hell has no room, the evil dead begin to spill back onto Earth and eventually upon Heaven’s gate. The Selestial Order has been recruited to mitigate this effect and aim to send forth in order to smite the souls in Hell. Players adopt the role of one of these keepers, and they must pledge to do all they can to prevent Earth from falling into pure depravity. Sanctity as a whole will be resting in your hands.
Skelly Selest includes various enemy types and wave-based, pulse-pumping game modes that utilize the Steam score leaderboard. You’ll find yourself venturing through the various levels of Hell, emerging from Bones Plains and Flesh Gardens to Souls Necropolis. Vacuous monstrosities await in these depths, including the Arch Lichemancer and the Deamonica Netherlord itself. Luckily, you’ll run into various blessed items throughout your journey that will bolster your fighting prowess as you come face to face with demonic entities. You may run into some non-player characters that need rescuing or special unlockables, so make sure to traverse the depths as thoroughly as you can.
One of the most unique aspects of Skelly Selest comes in the form of the pit arena survive-athons; you can jump into an endless battle of meanies, participate in a gloomy dungeaon crawl, or play in a strategic collectable card game, among various other game modes.
Prospective players can pick up Skelly Selest on Steam for an easy $2.24 during a special promotion that lasts until May 8. Be sure to check out the trailer below for a look a first-hand look at the gameplay.
