It’s been over a year since the excellent Bayonetta 2 was released for the Wii U, and now Nintendo is re-releasing the action brawler at half the price. While Bayonetta 2 was originally released as a bundle that contained the first Bayonetta and bonus content, on February 19th Bayonetta 2 will be released as a standalone game for only $30.
Hopefully this will ignite some more sales for the game because despite being one of the best games on the Wii U, the game has yet to break the 1 million mark. It’s also unclear what will happen to the original $60 release of the game, but it seems that this new re-release will be permanent. So if anyone wants to play the original Bayonetta on the Wii U with some fun Nintendo-themed levels and costumes, they might want to buy it now in case that content goes away.
With this new re-release and Bayonetta coming to Smash Bros., it looks like Nintendo is trying to revive some new interest in the series. And why wouldn’t they? Bayonetta 2 was one of the best action games of 2014 made by the incredibly awesome Platinum Games. Bayonetta 2 has a great art-style, exciting combat, and fun characters, all with that unmistakable Platinum charm. It looks like Bayonetta is in good hands with the people at Nintendo, and hopefully we will see more from this franchise in the future.
