You won’t have to wait so long to jump into the snowy lands of Hoth, Star Wars Battlefront will be launching its multiplayer beta this coming October. DICE, the developer of the game has announced when released it will go live on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. The 5 day long beta will allow players access to Battlefront’s multiplayer modes across 3 of the planets from the game.
The Star Wars Battlefront beta will include the 40-player Walker Assault mode on Hoth; a co-op survival mission on Tatooine, which can be played with a friend via splitscreen or online; and Drop Zone mode, the Battlefront version of king of the hill, on the planet Sullust.
Electronic Arts and DICE also are going to allow player access for the new Star Wars Battlefront companion app during the beta period, which is a browser-based experience on the website of the game.
DICE announced that the upcoming beta release will come in at about 7 GB on consoles and about 11 GB on PC. PC players will be allowed to preload the beta through EA’s Origin service on Oct. 7. However, progress made in the beta will not be carried over into the full game upon its release.
The beta will conclude on Oct. 12.
Star Wars Battlefront makes its way to stores on Nov. 17.
