Battlefield V’s Next Update War In The Pacific Coming Next Week

Today, Dice and EA revealed new details about the next update for Battlefield V. Available on October 31, Chapter 5: War in the Pacific brings amphibious assaults and all-out warfare across iconic battlefields, with the U.S. and Japan entering the fray. The update brings in new factions, weapons, vehicles, elites, and rewards. Anyone can try the new Chapter for free as part of the Battlefield V Free Weekend Trials.

Players can fight as the U.S. Armed Forces or the Imperial Japanese Army and deploy with their respective iconic military hardware. Two classic Battlefield maps, Iwo Jima and Pacific Storm. On Iwo Jima, players will be engaged in a fight across wide-open black beaches and close-range environments like the tunnels of the mighty Mount Suribachi. Pacific Storm is a set of islands where a game-changing storm can come in and reduce sightlines. In December, a reimagined version of Wake Island will come to the game.

When War in the Pacific launches, four main weapons will be available, the M1 Garand, the Type 99 Arisaka for the Recon class, the Type 100 for the Medic class, and the M1919A6 for the Support class. As the Tides of War continue, other weapons coming to the game include the M3 Grease Gun, Nambu Type 2A, Type 97 LMG, and M1918 A2. As a reward, the Jungle Carbine and the Type 94 and Model 27 sidearms can be added to your arsenal. The Lunge Mine will be added as a new gadget for the Assault class. Players can also pickup the katana and M2 Flamethrower as Battle Pickups which can only be found on the battlefield to equip.

Several new vehicles are also coming to the next update. The M4 Sherman is a medium tank for the U.S. with sturdy armor and decent speed. Japan’s medium tank is the Type 97. Players can also traverse across land and sea with the LVT and Ka-Mi Light Amphibious Tanks. New air vehicles include the F4U Corsair and the Japanese Zero Fighter.

Each new Chapter rank earns new rewards like weapons, outfits, weapon skins, melee weapons, Special Assignments, and more. By taking on Weekly Challenges, players can unlock the menacing Barbed Wire Bat, the Boomstick Lunge Mine, and other items.
