Battlefield V Single Player Trailer Released

Today, EA DICE released the single player trailer for their upcoming game, Battlefield V. The trailer, which highlights the grit and glory of World War II, gives players a glimpse at what is to come with the sixteenth installment of the Battlefield franchise. Like it’s predecessor Battlefield 1Battlefield V will structure the single player story into “War Stories,” first-person chapters following the action of different soldiers and squads at different points in time during the Second World War. This take on narrative focuses on the individuals, rather than the battles as a whole, allowing for some truly cinematic and heart-wrenching tales. Check out the trailer below:

The trailer highlights a few such potential stories. One follows a female protagonist as she battles the enemy on a breathtaking, snow-strewn landscape, another on a squad as they brace themselves against incoming aerial fire, and even what looks like a perilous journey on the high seas in a storm. From the cinematic nature of the trailer paired with the exhilarating score, players can expect memorable single-player gameplay against the backdrop of a world-changing, historical war. While we can only speculate as to exactly what the campaign has in store, we do know that Battlefield 1 contained six chapters, allowing players a chance to pilot tanks and fighter planes in addition to the traditional ground combat that first-person shooters are known for.

The trailer shows both artillery and airborne combat that are sure to make a reappearance in both the single and multiplayer modes of the game. According to the Battlefield site, the game will also sport several multiplayer modes, including the Battlefield classic 64-player Conquest, Final Stand where players must survive on limited supplies and ammunition, and even a take on the battle-royale format, Firestorm. An update on the Battlefield 1 mode Operations, called Grand Operations, will also make an appearance, where successes and failures change the nature of the game over the 4-day multiplayer campaign.

Battlefield V deploys November 20 on Xbox One, PS4, and Microsoft Windows.
