We’re in the home stretch now for Battlefield 2042. The title’s launch date is quickly approaching and has fast become one of the more anticipated releases of 2021. EA and DICE have been working non-stop to get this behemoth of a game ready, and despite small delay, hype is reaching new heights. EA added to this by announcing that details of the newest game mode, Hazard Zone, will officially be unveiled later this week on Thursday, October 14.
While there is little to no information on the Hazard Zone mode, some have speculated that this will be the title’s Battle Royale mode, or at the very least have elements from the genre. If this ends up being the case, then it will be DICE’s second attempt at making a Battle Royale mode for the series. They previously attempted this with Battlefield V in the Firestorm mode, which was not well received. The company has also made a very brief trailer, which will also be used as the main premier video when it drops on October 14.
Regardless of what the new mode will entail, it will surely be another interesting edition for Battlefield 2042. The game recently had its Open Beta event, which more than likely provided EA and DICE with some much-needed feedback on what to work with and what they can keep in place. With the already insanely massive multiplayer mode, which hosts up to 128 players, the Battlefield Portal, and now The Hazard Zone mode, Battlefield 2042 is shaping up to be the signature online experience for 2021. The Hazard Mode will officially premiere on Thursday, October 14 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.
Battlefield 2042 will officially launch on November 19 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
