Battleborn: New DLC Character, Maps, and Broadcaster Tools

Battleborn will be seeing a number of new content including a new character, three new multiplayer maps, and a new way to broadcast gameplay.

Battleborn will be receiving an update which includes new broadcasting tools that will enable broadcasters to create better quality content. Neil Johnson, Technical Director for Battleborn, played a major role in the creation of these tools. In a message to the community he stated,

We’ve added a new feature to Versus Private: ‘Broadcaster Mode’. Versus Private Matches now allow up to two added players to join a new third team, labeled “Spectator”. During the match, these players can spectate the battlefield using a set of third-person camera controls to follow players on either team or to move freely around the battlefield. On the PC, keyboard hotkeys allow for quick-jumping to players and to fixed points of interest. Of course, PS4 and Xbox also support Broadcaster Mode, and we think you’ll find the camera controls just as easy to use on those platforms.

Along with the new broadcasting tools, Battleborn will also receive its free new character, Pendles. Pendles will be the second of five free characters that will be introduced to Battleborn over the next year. Pendles is stealthy snake-like assassin who wields two mamas and will officially be released on August 4th, however, if players have the season pass, they will have early access to the character on July 28th. In addition, Battleborn’s multiplayer will be getting three new maps called Monuments, Outskirts, and Snowblind.

The first map, Monuments, is an incursion map in which players will, “stop other factions from settling within one of the largest Aztanti settlement ruins on Ekkunar”. The map will have room for all types of play styles.

The next map, Outskirts,  is a meltdown map in which players will be tasked with hurling minions into the incinerators in an attempt to cause meltdown.

The last map, Snowblind, is a capture map. This map requires players to,”race other teams to help rebuild the base by activating the energy collectors to re-power the facility”.

These maps will be coming in the next update, although as of yet there has not been a set date and time in which they will be released.
