Gamers familiar with the asymmetrical horror survival genre understand what it means when you say 3vs1. For those who might not know what that sort of odd-numbered team setup looks like in practice, you will soon find out at the next family game night. This upcoming asymmetrical party game from the small indie developer team at PICOMY, Bandit Trap, has just received its release date, confirming it will be released to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games this coming February 6, 2026.
Bandit Trap sees up to three members of your friends or family team up as bandits, invading the house of a highly suspecting trapper, played by just one member of said friends or family, to steal their precious valuables. What the bandits are not expecting, however, is for the trapper to have thoroughly defended their base of operations. Being that they are massively outnumbered, as teams are set three to one, players in the trapper position have the ability to just about destroy their home in hopes of keeping their valuables intact. In this position, you will be able to flood and freeze over entire areas of the home, set wire traps to blast your opposition sky high with all sorts of creative booby-traps, and most importantly, outright kick the home invaders right back out on the street where they came from with a comically massive hammer. This is all without mentioning the trapper’s inherent ability to turn the game into Call of Duty’s prop hunt mode by transforming into the very same furniture they boobytrapped a moment ago.
With all of these seemingly overpowered abilities, one might guess that the trapper would win every game of Bandit Trap they played. An avid fan of asymmetrical games, however, knows that it’s not that simple, as with the bandit’s numbers come a requirement for intentional and well-planned trapping on the part of the trapper. The trapper’s abilities of complete house control are limited by their skill and knowledge of the game’s mechanics, and the same can be said for the role of the bandit. Any novice bandit will at some point lose themselves in the winding halls of a stranger’s home, and the same can be said for the team of bandits in Bandit Trap.
Get ready for this high-intensity and cartoony family party game when Bandit Trap releases to Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Steam and Epic Games on February 6, 2026.
