Bandai Namco Launches Countdown Website for New Title

Bandai Namco, most popular for their Souls titles, Ni No Kuni, and the upcoming Dragonball FighterZ, released a countdown website just yesterday. At the end of the 10-day waiting period, a new title will be unveiled to the world.

The website is simple and only sports a microwave that says “CLICK!!” above it. Once clicked, the microwave opens up and an egg falls out. Afterwards, the countdown pops up, stating how many more days are left until the count is over. Currently, the count is at 10 days, but it is expected to change every day.

Users on Reddit dug little into the matter, and they discovered that Bandai Namco had uploaded some GIFs onto the website ahead of time. These GIFs show the egg cracking a little each day the countdown timer goes down, and it repeats once the GIF has finished. The most current GIF uploaded is of day 7, and the egg falls out of the microwave, cracking all of the way down the middle.

Though nothing can be confirmed until the countdown is complete, the URL contains the letters MHA, which is the acronym for the recently popular anime, My Hero Academia, also known as Boku No Hero Academia in Japan. The anime centers around an elite school that helps train super heroes.

This fan theory not an impossibility, as there has already been a My Hero Academia game released on the 3DS last year. Although it has only been released in Japan so far, many fans are adamant on the theory that a new My Hero Academia is in the works. Some even theorize that this new title could be an MMO. The other letters that come after MHA, OJ, are also thought to stand for Online Japan. This also signals that, if true, this would be another Japan exclusive title for the time being.

Regardless, the only way to know what will happen next is to check back on the site daily and hope others will discover future images uploaded to the site.
