Bandai Namco Celebrates Pac-Man’s 42nd Birthday with New Game, Fortnite Items

Bandai Namco’s flagship arcade franchise, PAC-MAN, commemorated its 42nd anniversary on Monday with the announcement of a new arcade collection, among other celebratory releases. PAC-MAN MUSEUM+, a collection of 14 PAC-MAN games, is set to release on Friday for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox Series X|S.

True to its name, the game will feature a number of classic and modern titles from PAC-MAN‘s past, including lesser-known titles like Pac-Land and Pac-in-Time. Players can also create their own digital arcade room to display their favorite cabinets, show off their achievement trophies, and listen to the game’s soundtrack in.

While the new game is PAC-MAN’s biggest birthday present this year, it is certainly not the last. According to a tweet made by Bandai Namco, fans of the arcade classic can expect to see him (or at least items themed around him) in Fortnite next month.

To accompany their media campaign for everything PAC-MAN, Bandai Namco created a new theme song and music video for him: “We are PAC-MAN!”, written by Yoshihito Yano and Kazuhito Udetsu, and performed by Kaho Kidoguchi.

As thanks to fans for supporting the series for more than 40 years, Bandai Namco has also launched the PAC-MAN Birthday Sweepstakes contest, which will run through Friday. According to post made by the official PAC-MAN Twitter account, five participants will receive a copy of PAC-MAN MUSEUM+, an Arcade1Up PAC-MAN arcade machine, and other free PAC-MAN merchandise.
