Larian Studios dropped a not so subtle tweet in regards to their upcoming game Baldur’s Gate III. The studio made the tweet short and yet very effective, stating that there will be a “sizzle” dropping this Friday. What exactly they mean by this is anyone’s guess, but the studio could be referring to the sizzle reel phrase, which is a very short video intended to generate hype. In other words, we’re more than likely in store for a brand new trailer of sorts, and hopefully some more gameplay as well.
Ever since it was announced at last year’s E3, the anticipation has only grown exponentially, so when Larian Studios says they have something to show us, we’re definitely going to be excited for it. The studio has been fairly quiet for the past few months, with the last time being when they showcased the gameplay for the first time at PAX East this past February. They also announced that the game would be getting an Early Access Launch in a couple of months, but that clearly did not come to pass, which the studio attributed to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Larian still has plans to launch the game into Early Access at some point this year.
Larian Studio’s previous work is more than likely why the diehard Dungeons and Dragons fanbase is excited for Baldur’s Gate III. The studio is known for creating the beloved Divinity series, with the most recent entries, Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin 2 receiving critical acclaim. The Baldur’s Gate name is arguably the most well known of the Dungeons and Dragons spin-offs, but with what we’ve seen thus far, the IP is in good hands with Larian, and we cannot wait for the sizzle on Friday. On top of that, Larian will also be present during the Guerrilla Collective Festival livestream which is also part of the Summer of Gaming event next month.
Baldur’s Gate III will launch for PC through Steam, GOG and Stadia.
