Patch 2 for Baldur’s Gate 3 is just around the corner and endings and epilogues for certain characters are getting tweaked. Earlier today on the 29th of August, Larian Studios announced that the patch is almost here which surprised a lot of people given how large the previous patch was. Patch 1, with over 1,000 bug fixes and remedies, launched just last week so it is very surprising that patch 2 is coming so soon after the release of the first one.

What’s most important to consider in patch 2 is it’ll “begin to incorporate feedback into original character epilogues.” Characters like Karlach will receive a different ending and epilogue due to his unpopular ending and epilogue. In most scenarios, Karlach’s endings and prologues were viewed negatively by players so patch 2 will hopefully remedy this. Larian Studios has also announced the patch will contain other elements besides just the change in endings and epilogues. For example, it’ll fix bugs, streamline and smooth out performance issues (which is most important as frame rate drops have been reportedly terrible in Act 3,) and other various tweaks and changes. If there are also changes to many of the boss fights in the game, it means the previously adjusted boss battles (which made them more formidable and difficult to conquer) will be more manageable than before.
Due to Larian Studio’s high attention to their players, many of the changes will be implemented due to fans and players giving their two cents. Primarily, this means more attention to origin characters and their endings and epilogues.
In other news, Larian Studios has announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to Xbox Series X|S later this year. Unfortunately, co-op will not be available for this edition but it may eventually become available after its release. The PS5 edition is coming on September 6, but there is no concrete release date yet for the Xbox version.
