Games varied from smaller, obscure titles such as Fashion Police Squad and Salamander County Public Television to more recognize franchise games such as Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Forces. While many speed runs were done by individual runners over commentary from the Games Done Quick broadcasters, others were completed with commentary from the game’s original developers or in a race format with multiple players beginning their speed runs at the same time. A new world record for Super Mario Galaxy 2 was even set within a four-person race format, with a time of 2:54:51.33, beating the previous world record by 4.4 seconds.
