Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 Sets New Record by Raising $3.4 Million

Games Done Quick, the charity fundraising organization that has been raising money for various charities for over ten years, has reached a new record with this year’s Awesome Games Done Quick event. AGDQ 2022 has kicked off the year with a great start as the speedrunning charity event raised $3.4 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

AGDQ 2022 took place from Jan. 9th–16th and concluded with big announcement by Games Done Quick on Twitter, which revealed that total of $3,416,729 was raised during the event. This year’s AGDQ event broke the record for the highest amount of total money raised in Games Done Quick history. Additionally, AGDQ 2022 also surpassed the number of funds raised during last year’s Summer Games Done Quick event, where $2.9 million was raised for Doctors Without Borders.


Games Done Quick also announced on Twitter that AGDQ 2022 raised the highest amount of money during single event in the entire history of the fundraising organization. This year’s event beat Games Done Quick’s previous record for the highest amount of money raised, which was previously set at $3.13 million during AGDQ 2020.


According to Games Done Quick’s tracker tool, AGDQ 2022 had 149 runs, 222 prizes received, 28,079 donors, and 49,492 donations.

Games Done Quick’s next event will feature its all-women speedrunning community, the Frame Fatales, where they’ll be having their yearly winter event next month. Frost Fatales 2022 will be online via Games Done Quick’s Twitch channel from Feb. 27th–Mar. 5th. Frost Fatales 2022 will be raising money once again for the Malala Fund, foundation that advocates for policy changes to provide young girls with the resources needed to receive a secondary education.
