Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, announced earlier this year, has gone gold as its release date of December 7th, 2023 fast approaches. In this context, “going gold” means that the game is ready for launch, which is great news for those anticipating exploring the movie franchise’s world of Pandora.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an open-world action-adventure game exploring the world of Pandora from James Cameron’s ever-popular Avatar movies. Being a first-person game starring a new Na’vi character made specifically for the game, it will be interesting to see how the world of Pandora is explored through a new, native set of eyes. And to top it all off we will be seeing parts of Pandora we likely have never seen before, so for those invested in the world of Avatar this will definitely be a treat.
There is a bit of apprehension to be exercised here, though. “Going gold” doesn’t mean too much in today’s current era of game development, and there is always a chance there will be cut content repackaged as DLC down the road, especially since Ubisoft doesn’t have the best reputation among the gaming community, the season pass likely not doing much to deter these worries. But there is also a chance that the game comes out as a fully complete and satisfying experience, fun for both its single-player and multi-player modes as you and a friend can traverse the open world of Pandora in what’s sure to be a fun two-player co-op.
With the release date soon, you can preorder Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora right now at the Ubisoft store here. Or you can wait for the full release on December 7th of this year where it will be available exclusively on next-gen consoles Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, as well as available on PC through Windows.
