On March 20th, developers at Woodland Games and publisher Team 17 Digital Ltd have released an official trailer that Autopsy Simulator will now be coming to consoles on April 3rd of this year. The game was originally released on PC through Steam on June 6th, 2024, but it will now be available on Xbox Series X/S as well as PlayStation 5.
Autopsy Simulator is a single-player, first-person horror simulation game where players take the role of a pathologist, a scientist who studies the causes and effects of disease and death. The player’s job is to look closely at the case files that was created in collaboration with real-world forensic doctors to help dissect anatomically accurate bodies to determine the deceased person’s cause of death.
According to the Steam page, here is more details of the story the game is trying to tell in the Story Mode, “In Autopsy Simulator: Dead Memories, you play a middle-aged pathologist whose life has taken a turn for the worse. After a career downfall and the loss of your beloved wife, you live each day shattered and exhausted. One day during a routine post-mortem, you find a relic of your past hidden inside a body. Now, it feels like something just won’t let go…”
Each case the player will look at has their own story to tell, and the player will need to also unravel the secrets of the victim by solving puzzles. Each case is also designed with the help of real life pathomorphologists and forensic doctors, ensuring that the autopsy process is as accurate as possible.
Not only is there a story mode, but players can choose between that or settle for Autopsy Only Mode. There is also a Mature Content Description where the developers described their content in the game to involve criminal cases, dead bodies, and nudity.
