Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Boss Fight Leaked

Ubisoft has suffered another leak for one of their games ahead of Ubisoft Forward.  Today, a video for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla leaked. The leak in question is a lengthy boss fight which pits the protagonist Eivor against a powerful warrior named Cordelia, who is one of the daughters of the deceased King Lerion. The fight reveals a number of different things, including that this boss is considered a “demon goddess” by the protagonist, which may hold some sort of significance in the game, that the boss’s name takes inspiration from the Shakespearean tragedy of King Lear,  and that the fight is considered a work in progress.

Aside from wielding two knives, Cordelia also appears to be adept at using magic as she can teleport, fire copies of herself at the player, and call down lighting. It also appears she uses the nordic rune Thurisaz at certain intervals and performs a spinning jump to strike down at Eivor. The video also revealed a mechanic that allows the player to recharge their ability gauge while mid-combat, by eating the various mushrooms scattered about the field, Eivor can regenerate their ability gauge and keep using their abilities. This boss battle has three phases, with short combat cutscenes for each cleared phases, and it can be surmised that this mechanic will be similar for other bosses in the game.

Aside from the boss fight, the video also shows that Valhalla’s side quest system will be called Mysteris for the various map sections, and will include secrets and wealth that players will have to scour the map for. The video also reveals that just like in Odyssey’s skill system, players will be able to unlock abilities from three styles, Raven, Bear, and Wolf. Sadly, not much more information can be gleaned from the video, but more information will likely be revealed at Ubisoft Forward on July 12th.
