Ubisoft is porting Assassin’s Creed Mirage (2023) to mobile. Through the official page on the App Store, the studio officially slated a date of June 10th, 2024 for the free mobile release. The information panel on the official App Store page states that the game is best experienced with a game controller. The game is 3.8 GB and requires iOS 17.0 to run the game. The age rating is 17+ due to “frequent and intense realistic violence” as well as “infrequent/mild profanity or crude humor”. The game is also available in multiple languages such as English, Arabic, German, French, Japanese, and simplified/traditional Chinese.
Mirage marks the thirteenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. The single player action adventure game was originally released for the PS4/PS5, Windows, and Xbox. Its release was met with fairly good reception, with IGN rating it an 8/10. The game’s music was nominated for a BAFTA as well. The game’s development went through many changes – for example, according to a Polygon article, Mirage started out as an expansion pack for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (2020). Possibly due to its original nature of being an expansion pack, the main campaign of Mirage is “smaller”, clocking in at around 20 hours.
The App Store port of Mirage is part of continuous updates applied to the game since its release. Cosmetics microtransactions for the game were released in August 2023, and a free update – which included gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and a new game plus mode – for the game was released on December 12, 2023. A second free update mainly focused on implementing a permadeath mode was released on February 20th, 2024.
