In a recent Reddit post via Imgur there is a photo of a supposed copy of an upcoming GameInformer issue that gives details on the next Assassin’s Creed title from Ubisoft. The leak potentially confirms the game’s setting in ancient Egypt, the name Assassin’s Creed Origins, and an apparent October 27, 2017 release date for the game. There will also be at least four different versions of the game available including a Gold Steelbook Edition that contains a season pass and other perks.
The cover art that is featured in the photo of the issue is strikingly similar to the art that was featured on a Target reservation card that was also leaked online. The photo contains an assassin standing on top of the Sphinx along with the Assassin’s Creed Origins title. There is also a caption that reads “An empire falls, a brotherhood rises.”
Previous reports about Assassin’s Creed Origins have stated that the game will take place in ancient Egypt, introduce the return of navy combat, and allow the player to take control of a bird. Another leak provided the game’s protagonist name; Bayek.
Ubisoft has only confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed title would be released before the end of March 2018. This upcoming game is said to be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. It will be the first Assassin’s Creed game in two years since the release of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate back in 2015. There is sure to be more revealed about the game during Ubisoft’s E3 press briefing, which will take place on Monday, June 12.
