The psychological horror Dream Cage is now officially available for consoles as of September 3, 2026; this comes about a year and a half after its initial release on Steam for the PC.
Dream Cage delves into the world of sleep paralysis in the eyes of Robert, a 50 year old man who is suffering from early on-set Alzheimer’s disease. Along with his struggles with memory, he suffers from insomnia, which has pushed him to begin taking medication to be able to get rest during the night. The unfortunate outcome of this is addiction, making it difficult for him to distinguish realty from hallucinations. This is especially worrying when you witness what he is seeing: grotesque anomolies that would make anyone run and hide.
At times, Robert will be stuck in sleep paralysis, confined to his bed while a monstrous creature crawls over him. Other times, he will be walking around his home, feeling a strange presence behind him. Unsure of what to believe, the only form of realty he can hold onto is a camcorder where he can look through the lens and may be able to see the truth of his situation. A quiet room where Robert is the only inhabitant can transform into a living nightmare when he points the camcorder around and spots a tall man with a broken jaw stalking about his living room, seemingly in search of him. He is faced with the horrifying question: are these hallucinations, or something else?
There are 25 anomalies avaiable in total in his home, discovering them all will unlock the true ending to Robert’s story. Along the way, the root of his problems will come out, his mind will no longer be able to hide his secrets any longer, and you will come to know him just as well as he knows himself.
Dream Cage is available on the PlayStation and Xbox stores now.
