April PlayStation Plus Games

It’s that time of month again where PlayStation announces their monthly lineup of free PlayStation Plus games. April’s selection has plenty to keep you busy and has a little bit of something for everyone.

To start things off we have two great games for PlayStation 4 Tower of Guns and Never Alone. Tower of Guns. also available for PlayStation 3, is a first person shooter game sure to have your “guns a blazing” in no time. Fight random enemies, bosses, and receive power ups while battling your way through the tower. Never Alone follows the story of a young native Alaskan girl and her pet fox as they solve puzzles to uncover the source of the blizzard that plagues her village.

Besides Tower of Guns, PlayStation 3 is also getting Dishonored and Aaru’s Awakening for this months selection. Arkane Studios’s Dishonored follows Corvo Attano, a framed bodyguard who seeks revenge against those who wronged him. This stealth action adventure game gives players the freedom to choose the outcome of the storyline and features RPG elements. If you get tired of assassinating enemies in Dishonored’s city of Dunwall, then travel through the rough terrain of Lumenox with Aaru who uses charging and teleportation to get through this platformer game. Aaru’s Awakening is also available for PlayStation 3.

Last but not least is Killzone Mercenary and MonsterBag for PS Vita. Following the original Killzone series, Killzone Mercenary takes place on planets Helghan and Vekta. These episodes are set between both Killzone 2 and 3, while revisiting key events in previous Killzone games. In a much lighter setting, MonsterBag follows V, a monster trying to find his friend Nia. Solve puzzles, test your wits, and try not scaring off other people in this adorable light hearted game.

If these games aren’t enough for you then buy Axiom Verge, released yesterday, as part of PlayStation’s Spring Fever Promotion which happens to be in its 5th week. From March 31st through April 6th, you can purchase Axiom Verge for $17.99 after that the price jumps up to $19.99, not too bad if you ask me. Let us know what you think of April’s Plus free games on Facebook or Twitter.

Daniela Drook: Daniela's fascination of video games began with her first Super Nintendo console at the tender age of 6, exploring the adventures of Link with Zelda: Link to the Past and Goofy from Goof Troop: Goofy and Max Adventures. From there her love of gaming only grew moving on to more advanced consoles such as the Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation, PC, and later on Xbox. These days you can catch Daniela battling guardians in the crucible or enemies plaguing the world of Destiny on PS4. She is currently studying to become a software engineer in hopes of one day developing her own game. Please feel free to interact with her on twitter.
