With the PS4’s release just around the corner, you would expect their scheduled launch line-up to be solidified. Unfortunately, there is a rumor that the exclusive Drive Club may be pushed.
According to The Same Coin, an anonymous source has claimed Drive Club will be pushed back to Spring 2014. They made sure to bury their tracks by stating players should “treat this as 100% rumor for now.”
Nevertheless, the announcement was made and a source close to both Kotaku and Sony backed up these 100% rumors with a statement that the game would definitely be released during Q1 2014.
This is the second announced delay in the last two days. We reported that Ubisoft was pushing back the release of Watch Dogs from their originally posted launch date. Should we worry that next-gen launch titles have to reschedule release dates?
Sony wasn’t available for comment but representatives from Kotaku stated that the push was all due to “scheduling conflicts.”
Paul Rustchynsky, Design Director at Evolution Studios, the studio developing Drive Club, chimed in via Twitter:
Unfortunately guys I don't have any new information on DRIVECLUB to share. I've been out if the office for a week looking after my newborn!

Driveclub is planned to be a new racing game that will focus primarily on street racing. However, as reported, the game won’t play as a simulator but more a desensitized and romanticized vision of street racing. Think Grid 2 or The Fast and the Furious.
