Another Fortnite and Avengers Crossover Appears to be on the Way

With only days until the release of one of the biggest and most anticipated movies of the year in Avengers: Endgame, Epic Games is teasing another crossover between the behemoth film franchise and their behemoth battle royale game Fortnite. The tease came via the official Fortnite Twitter account when a tweet went out with the movie’s slogan of “Whatever it takes” along with this Thursday’s date of April 25.

While no more information has been given regarding what this teased crossover will be, there is plenty to speculate about. Last year, following the release of Avergers: Infinity War, Epic Games brought the movie’s villain Thanos to the game in the limited time Infinity Gauntlet mode. Thus, this crossover could be a return of that mode.

However, it could also be something completely different. Today’s tweet about the crossover contains an image of a Fortnite character holding Captain America’s iconic shield. This could very well mean that the game will receive new cosmetics based on characters in the film. This is something many fans craved during last year’s event, and would be similar to when Epic Games partnered with the NFL to bring cosmetics based on the 32 NFL teams to the game.

While fans can only speculate and anticipate what is in store for this crossover, they won’t have to wait long for the update to go live in a few days. In the meantime, the Fortnite World Cup is currently ongoing. However, during the event, Epic Games has had to ban over 1200 players due to cheating. Avengers: Endgame has also had to deal with  some misfortunes as, last week, spoliers for the film were leaked online. This has lead to the directorial duo of the Russo brothers penning a letter to fans urging them not to spoil the film for others.
