Wright Flyer Studios and Studio Prisma have confirmed that Another Eden Begins, a time-traveling turn-based RPG, will launch on September 17, 2026, for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The announcement was made at the Another Eden Spring Festival 2026 in Tokyo, alongside new trailer. Another Eden Begins is a standalone title derived from Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, the free-to-play mobile RPG that launched on iOS and Android in Japan in 2017 and reached English-speaking audiences in 2019 before coming to PC in 2021. This version brings a new cast, a main story with complete English voice acting, and reworked systems, and is designed to be playable without prior knowledge of the mobile game.
Masato Kato, Studio Prisma‘s scenario writer and director, is known for his contributions to Chrono Trigger and Xenogears. Yasunori Mitsuda, whose credits include Xenogears and Chrono Cross, wrote the game’s main theme, with additional music and orchestration from Procyon Studio incorporating traditional folk instruments.
Aldo and his younger sister Feinne live in the village of Baruoki until Feinne is seized by the Beast King. The battle that follows sends Aldo 800 years forward in time through a rupture in spacetime. The narrative unfolds across three eras: 300 AD, the game’s present; 1,100 AD, centered on Elzion, a floating city built after an incident rendered the planet’s surface uninhabitable; and 20,000 BC, a period in which humans lived alongside elemental spirits. Aldo gathers 18 companions across these periods, each carrying their own history and personal arc, with additional storylines accessible through encounter quests, character quests, and kinship quests.
Battles revolve around a command system. Players assemble parties around role-based synergies, building the Another Force gauge over the course of a fight. Triggering Another Force locks enemies out of their turn window and enables chain attacks. The game features a branching story with ten different endings. Players who finish the main story gain access to New Game+, which lets them carry their progress into a second run alongside a new character, with diverging paths available throughout.
Language support covers English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. A physical release has been confirmed for Japan.
Early purchases of the Steam version come with a set of serial codes for Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space. The Steam Early Bird Bonus includes an Encounter Ramiu ticket, which lets players encounter Ramiu, an original character from Another Eden Begins, and also dresses up the mobile game’s versions of Aldo and Feinne in their Begins outfits; three 5-Star Guaranteed 10 Allies Bundle (Begins) tickets; and a code that lets new players skip Main Story Part 1 of The Cat Beyond Time and Space. These serial codes are not included with the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 download versions of the game.
The game is available to wishlist now on Steam.
