After a long time of waiting, cute new content is arriving on islands all across the world. On July 27, 2021, Nintendo released teaser for Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ 1.11.0 Summer Update, which came to the game as a free update on July 29. With so many new seasonal items to collect and new firework shows to see, here’s everything that’s been released with Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ update. One of the most exciting features of the Summer Update is the new seasonal items scheduled for release in August and September of this year. As part of Nintendo’s announcement for the new seasonal event, they’ve released a schedule of all of the new limited-time items that can be purchased through Nook Shopping on certain event days.
And there are so many new items to collect as well! Throughout the duration of the event, players can collect a variety of boba teas, frozen treats, and candy by playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons. More information about collecting these sweet treats can be found here. And what better to go with your favorite tea than a fireworks display? Nintendo has confirmed that the Fireworks Festival will be returning throughout the month of August! So hop on now and start collecting your sweet treats, and tune in to the Fireworks Festival every Sunday in August after 7 pm!
Along with this new update, patch notes also confirm that, “Adjustments and corrections were made to improve the gameplay experience.”
Fans are already excited about this new update, which brings some much-needed new items and events to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, this update may have also unknowingly brought something else to fans as well. Dataminers have discovered lines of code that suggest that The Roost Cafe, the popular in-game cafe, could be returning to the game.
“First of all, a camera parameter change was made to the code reference ‘IdrMuseumCafe‘ in Version 1.11. This follows additions in the previous Version 1.10 update where new camera settings for ‘IdrMuseumCafe‘ were spotted, as well as a new reference to a third type of Museum entrance known as ‘IdrMuseumEnt03‘.”
Additional lines of code, such as ‘MuseumLevel’ and ‘cNpcMemory: TalkProgressMuseumBuiltCafe’ go even further to hint at new NPC interactions for after the Cafe is built. Not to mention Nintendo left fans with a mysterious message that promised, “…more free content… for later this year…” which could include the Cafe comeback of a lifetime.
All of the data mining and teasers could suggest that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is making room for the addition of the Cafe to the Museum, a feature that would be returning from previous games. Of course, data miners emphasize that “It’s important to note that the presence of references in the datamined game code do not guarantee future features as they could be left unfinished forever, plans could change, or could be misunderstandings.”
Regardless of whether or not the Cafe makes a comeback, Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans can rest assured that exciting new content is coming their way. So head back to your tropical island getaway, collect some boba teas, and sit back and relax to a nice fireworks show. You’ve earned it!
