Today, Nintendo posted information about a new update coming for the latest game in the Hyrule Warriors series, Age of Imprisonment, on their social media platforms. The game released on November 6th, making the new content potentially available for many still on their first playthrough. The announcement itself came as a surprise, though fans had suspected that updates would be coming to the game following its release. Given the smaller nature of the update compared to those of its predecessor, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, many are also hopeful that additional updates will be coming in the future.

In their post, Nintendo kept details about the new content fairly vague, hinting at two new weapons and a new Sync Strike for Zelda and Calamo. Further information has yet to be translated, but Nintendo Life and Nintendo Everything have both compiled a translated description of the information from a Japanese update page. Among the things revealed by the post is a set of new Battle and Hyrule Challenges. In addition, the update will include more dangerous enemies that drop more powerful materials.

The update also includes more options for the Sync Strike system, including the previously mentioned attack with Calamo and a Sync Strike with Block Golems. Learning the abilities seems to be tied to new challenges implemented in the update, though the attacks themselves will be usable throughout the game. In addition to content, the update will also release bug fixes and features meant to smooth out normal gameplay.

The new update has excited many fans, while also getting the hopes up of other players who wish to see additional playable characters to fill out the game’s roster. Regardless of how well the update is received, Nintendo has indicated that it will not be the last. The free update will be available to play on November 27th.
