Among Us has Gained Popularity during the Pandemic

Among Us is a game designed for friends and total strangers to roam around various space themed maps in order to win the match by completing tasks while also trying to find a killer among them, has seen a magnificent amount of attention in the past year. Likely due to the governments stay at home orders, people around the world have been looking for something fun to do while they wait out the Covid-19 pandemic and Among Us has been the perfect filler to pass the time.

Among Us’ only way of communication between players when a meeting is called, is from a chat box that is accessible to both the alive players and the dead but are separated so the dead can not give away who the killer is. With a minute of open discussion and voting, the chat box is simply not as affective as what talking to players through a mic would be. From this notice, players of the game have started using the platform Discord to fill this gap in timely communication.

With all of the attention the game has been getting this year, Innersloth has decided to not make a sequel to Among Us but rather expand on the present game.

We canceled the sequel because we saw the opportunity to give back to the players a little bit faster than creating a new, better version. It will be more work in the long run, but we’re excited for players to update the game, and suddenly there’s a brand new feature or map that unlocks new experiences. – an Innersloth developer said while being interviewed by CNN Business Forest Willard.

Among Us is a great game that friends and family can come together to experience and have an untold amount of laughs with one another. If you have yet to jump into Among Us, you can find it on Google Play and the App Store.
