If this Amazon Germany listing is true, then we may be getting game of the year edition of the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Knight. According to Dualshockers, the listing isn’t on the US amazon site and no official confirmation has been given by Warner Bros. Although this news should be taken with a grain of salt, it’s not unlikely considering that every game in the Arkham series has had a Game of the Year Edition. Except Arkham Origins, but we don’t talk about that one.
Originally only available separately or with a $40 season pass, this Game of the Year Edition should have (again, not official) all the DLC available. Arkham Knight packed a lot of content into its DLC, with all new missions taking down villains like Killer Croc and Mr. Freeze, story missions that let you control Nightwing and Catwoman, and a full prequel campaign as Batgirl. Not to mention a plethora of costumes and Batmobiles based on Batman’s history. From the cover shown on the Amazon listing, it looks like the Game of the Year Edition will have an exclusive costume pack based on Ben Affleck’s Batman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The Amazon listing also has a possible release date of July 28, which is only two days after the release of Batman: Return to Arkham, the collection containing remastered versions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. This may be on purpose so that people who haven’t played the series, or want to replay it in HD, can play the entire trilogy with all the DLC on one console. It’s a fitting release for the greatest Batman games, and hopefully we can experience the full trilogy with all the DLC at a discounted price.
