Amazon is now taking request for early access to their brand new cloud gaming service, Luna. Similar to Google Stadia, Luna allows you to stream games on your home devices, avoiding long downloads and updates. There’s also a Luna Controller with Cloud Direct technology for low latency control and smooth play. Users can even switch between screens seamlessly due to a direct connection from controller to cloud server. Luna will be available on Fire TV, PC, Mac, as well an iPhone and iPad web app at launch, with Android coming soon after.
Users have the option of subscribing to the Luna+ game channel, offering resolution benefits, multi-device gaming, and a growing library of titles. During early access, Luna+ will include games like Resident Evil 7, A Plague Tale: Innocence, GRID, and more. Amazon also announced an additional new game channel featuring titles from popular video game publisher, Ubisoft, with 4K resolution and mobile gameplay. Subscribers to the channel will also have access to new titles like Assassins Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Immortals Fenyx Rising on release day. Chris Early, Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Revenue at Ubisoft, commented on the partnership, saying “Ubisoft’s channel on Luna will allow players to experience our new releases along with many of our catalog games while enjoying player-friendly features like Alexa and Twitch integrations.”
Luna controller hardware is Alexa compatible, while software allows users to view Twitch streams games available on Luna, and immediately switch to playing. Those who are apart of early access will have the opportunity to share feedback on their experience with all of these features. Only customers in the US can participate in early access.
