The environmental puzzle platformer, which revealed its debut trailer just last year, finally celebrated its official launch this week. Altered Matter, the developers behind Etherborn, took to Twitter to celebrate with the game’s anticipated fans.
When the whole world is at your feet, there is no ceiling to what you can do.
Welcome to Etherborn.
Out now on Steam, Humble, GoG, Switch, PS4, & Xbox One.

Welcome everyone, fans and newcomers, to the world of Etherborn. Here, players will take the form of a silent being just emerging into the realm. But you’re not alone. There is a voice that calls out to you. What is your goal? You must venture into this new world and attempt to reach this voice in order to truly understand who and what you are.
As you explore, you may realize that the physics of this world may differ a bit from our own. Gravity tends to shift at times, allowing you to walk walls perpendicular to the ground you were just walking on. This ability opens up new navigation possibilities. Players are challenged to use their imagination and creativity in order to solve the various puzzles and continue the journey.
In a recent post to the PlayStation.Blog site, Charles Trivino Masso, lead programmer at Altered Matter, shared a couple of tips for players to keep in mind when playing Etherborn for the first time.
Etherborn is all about exploring the environment to understand how gravity will affect you and the path that you need to take. That eureka moment that you are looking for could be just a step, jump, or gravity change away! If you are feeling stuck, don’t be afraid to veer off the path you already took, and try to bite the problem from a different angle so to speak.
Out of all the tips, one of the most important was to simply relax. The game’s main focus is on player exploration. There is no timer counting down the seconds. There are no enemies waiting to spring out from behind corners. Just let yourself relax, shake out the nerves, and enjoy the experience.

Etherborn is now available for download and is playable on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, GOG, Humble, Nintendo Switch and PC (via the Steam Store).
