All Aboard the Infected Train, Pandemic Express – Zombie Escape is Now in Early Access

Asymmetrical multiplayer games are becoming a little more popular as the times go on. This is what has happened in the World War Z game, and in the recently announced Project Winter. So it’s no surprise with its growing popularity that more developers, like TALLBOYS tinybuild, are jumping on the train. And that’s where Pandemic Express – Zombie Escape comes in.

From the trailer Pandemic Express looks like an equal match of PvP zombie versus humans. But it’s not exactly that. In fact, it doesn’t start out that way. The game starts off with 30 players inside of an abandoned train station. Their goal? Humans need to get to a train to escape. But there’s one player that starts off infected. Their goal? Infect all the other humans.

The developers had released a gameplay breakdown video as well on how the game runs and works. For the humans, it’s all about surviving and getting to the end. Human players will get a mark that shows how far away the train they need to get on is so they can make their way over. The map is fairly big and open, so there’s a lot of space to move around on. Players can get together in trucks or cars to move faster as well. And don’t worry, it isn’t just a game of infected tag, humans do get a number of firearms the help protect themselves and each other.

For the infected players, it’s a whole lot of hunting. Start building your ranks by infecting humans, and once you do? An army can be built. Infected players spawn indefinitely, so they’re always a threat. And each time they’re killed, their powers grow, giving them a numerous amount of skills to try and get more humans onto their side. These “ultra abilities” as the game calls them, can be a type of body bomb, or something that can be invisible to humans until it’s too late.

And once all the humans get to the train, the infected have to stop them. The infected will proceed to spawn on the train until the train gets to its destination. The final fight between humans and infected. If the train gets away, the humans win. If all humans are turned, the infected win. A wild, high-intensity chase from start to finish.

Pandemic Express – Zombie Escape is currently in Early Access, but it is having a 1 + 1 sale for the next few days. For every game purchased, a second code is given to the player so they can have their friend tag along. Check out the official website, or their Steam to learn more about the game.
