Alienware revealed its Concept UFO at CES 2020 on January 6th. Concept UFO intends to be a portable machine that can play high-end PC games. The concept machine that was displayed took inspiration from Nintendo’s Switch. Concept UFO even has detachable controllers that need to be combined together with another piece called a “bridge.” Concept UFO can use “dock mode” with any monitor or TV, not just the 10″ screen that machine was shown with. Concept UFO is displayed at timestamp 56:00.
Concept UFO is expected to run on Windows 10, though Dell has an app that will make navigation easier with the gamepad. It was shown running F1 Racing, and Engagdet suspects that the game ran closer to 30 FPS in mobile. In the docked format they speculate that Concept UFO hit closer to 60 FPS while playing World War Z.
Alienware did not offer many details about the hardware inside the machine, though Business Insider claims that the screen has a 1200 pixel resolution. For comparison, the Switch’s screen resolution is 720p. Alienware has divulged that Concept UFO uses a 10th generation Intel processor and can be compatible with a keyboard and mouse to offer a more traditional experience. Frank Azor posted to Twitter that Concept UFO is powered with AMD Ryzen. AMD Ryzen is advertised as one of the most powerful processors and is better than any other processor in Intel’s lineup.
Who wants to see this beauty powered by an @AMDRyzen? Now you're getting it 🙂 https://t.co/uObCgsbSit

Techradar was able to get a hands-on test. They noted that Concept UFO was heavy and unwieldy to hold, especially for an extended time. They did find that the controllers were more comfortable than the Switch’s Joy-Cons.
The design displayed at CES 2020 is a concept prototype, and none of the details of Concept UFO are guaranteed to be the same when it is released, nor is it assured that Concept UFO will actually be released in Alienware’s lineup of machinery.
