Following its takeover of The Game Awards last night with Alan Wake II winning three awards and the showstopping full cast performance of the Old Gods of Asgard’s song “Herald of Darkness”, Remedy has announced that its next update featuring the highly requested New Game Plus mode that they are calling “The Final Draft” is coming to the game on all platforms next week on December 11.
“The Final Draft” will come with a new ending to the game, new manuscripts and videos featuring new lore, and a new Nightmare difficulty setting with intensified enemies, strategic gameplay, and an adrenaline-pumping experience that pushes players’ skills to their limit. With the New Game Plus playthrough, players will retain all weapons, charms, and upgrades that were found in their first playthrough. Players can access these in the first available shoebox for the character. Players will not start with the weapons already in their inventory. “The Final Draft” can only be accessed after a completed playthrough.
Alan Wake II is one of the most acclaimed games of the year with numerous awards and accolades from The Washington Post, NME, Paste Magazine, Polygon, Time Magazine, the Golden Joystick Critic’s Choice Award, The Game Awards winning Best Art Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Game Direction, and more.
