October of last year gave us what many consider one of the greatest survival horror titles of all time, the long awaited sequel Alan Wake 2. The past couple of months have seen a resurgence in popularity of the character and series as it was also nominated for Game Of The Year at last years game awards. Well fans are delighted to find that Alan Wake will be coming to long running game Dead By Daylight as an added survivor at the end of January. Along with the announcement we got a full trailer that is very akin to Alan Wake 2’s writers room. Many people have begun to point out that Alan Wake coming to Dead By Daylight is the perfect collaboration as both games have much in common in the sense of indescribable fog and darkness consuming all.
The patch notes related to the new chapter of Dead By Daylight were released but the main highlight was our first look into what abilities and perks Alan as a survivor will bring to the game. The three perks shown in the patch notes were champion of light, Illumination, and Deadline. You can read in depth what these perks will do and the rest of the patch notes relating to killer balancing and overall game health here.
Alongside Alan being introduced as a survivor, a road map for January was released detailing minor updates leading up to the new chapter at the end of the month. With a bunch of new collections announced and a public test server taking place yesterday, there seems to be a lot coming to Dead By Daylight to start the new year off strong. The Alan Wake chapter releasing on January 30th is being accompanied by something titled Revision that is also related to Alan Wake but nothing has been said about that. Players prepare for Alan to survive yet another dark place.
🔦 We’re starting the year on a bright note.
